How accumulator odds work

An accumulator multiplies the decimal odds of every leg together: 2.00 × 3.00 × 1.50 = 9.00, so £10 returns £90 if all three win. One loser sinks the lot — that multiplication is also why accas are so profitable for bookmakers: every leg's margin compounds along with the odds.

If a leg is a non-runner, that selection settles at 1.00 and the acca continues on the remaining legs — a four-fold becomes a treble. The margin compounding is also the reason price-shopping matters more on accas than anywhere else: a slightly better price on each of five legs multiplies into a substantially better combined price. What's the difference between an acca and a Lucky 15?
An acca is one bet needing every leg to win. A Lucky 15 is 15 separate bets (singles, doubles, trebles and the four-fold) on four selections — part-payouts for partial success, at 15× the unit stake.

How are each-way accas settled?
As two accumulators: one on the win parts, one on the place parts at each leg's place terms. This calculator covers win accas; place terms per leg are in the each-way calculator.

Are accumulators bad value?
